Greece, Kefalonia 
Sterilizing 100 homeless cats to break the cycle of suffering
On the popular tourist island of Kefalonia in Greece, hundreds of homeless cats struggle to survive in remote villages, where kittens are born into suffering. NFA feeds and treats more than 500 cats across 14 villages every week, and runs regular sterilization campaigns.
Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, we will be sterilizing 100 Kefalonian street cats from June to December, preventing even more kittens from being born into misery.

Ukraine, Kharkiv 
Repairing a crucial animal ambulance that was bombed while saving animals on the frontline
In April, the crucial animal ambulance our supporters helped fund for our partner, Animal Rescue Kharkiv (ARK), was once again attacked by enemy drones. The enemy missed, but the missile exploded nearby, causing significant damage and rendering the vehicle immobile. With countless animals still suffering in the war zone and our team one of the few rescuing abandoned dogs on the frontline, we knew we had to act fast.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of our supporters, we rushed emergency funds to repair the vehicle, and we are thrilled to report that our animal ambulance is officially back on the road and saving animal victims of war in Ukraine.

Israel, Herut 
Relocating 100 donkeys saved from war and abuse to safe sanctuaries in Europe
Over the past few months, our partner, Starting Over Sanctuary (SOS), has rescued hundreds of donkeys from war and abuse in Gaza and other battle-scarred areas of Palestine. Now, our team is caring for more than 1,200 donkeys and is struggling to cope with the rising costs of food and medical care. To ease the financial burden on the sanctuary and allow it to rescue the donkeys still waiting to be saved, we have planned to relocate 100 donkeys to safe sanctuaries in France and Belgium.
Through the support of our donors, we covered the shortfall for the first flight scheduled for late May, which will see 60 donkeys flown to safety in Europe. Stay tuned for updates on the first flight and our ongoing fundraising efforts to support the second flight of donkeys.

Palestine, Bethlehem 
Giving six dogs and cats rescued from the war zone a safe new life in the USA
Since the Israel-Hamas war erupted in 2023, life for our partner, the Animal Environment Association (AEA), has been a daily struggle – donations have dried up and food and vet costs have tripled. Yet the team has never stopped saving animal lives.
To ease our partner’s financial burden while giving war-torn animals a second chance at a safe and happy life, we worked to secure new homes in the United States for four dogs and two cats.
Thanks to our compassionate supporters, the animals boarded their flights from Palestine in April, and are now safe and sound at sanctuaries in the United States. We are so grateful to everyone who made this possible – you helped us save six animal lives, giving them a future filled with love.

Uruguay, Montevideo 
Rushing emergency support to 350 animals at a small, overwhelmed shelter
In Montevideo, Uruguay, there’s a small, overwhelmed animal shelter called APA El Refugio – a haven for 320 rescued dogs and 30 cats. The shelter receives no help from the authorities, and despite their overwhelming debt, the team never turns away a single animal in need.
Thanks to our supporters’ donations, we rushed emergency funding to help APA El Refugio settle its vet bill. Because of you, the team can continue its life-saving work for animals – animals like Malek, who was found on death’s door and is currently being nursed back to health.

Morocco, Tangier 
Funding custom wheelchairs for disabled dogs
In Tangier, Morocco, where thousands of street dogs struggle to survive every day, 18 disabled dogs were destined to die – until our partner, SFT Sanctuary, stepped in. After saving the dogs, our team fitted each of them with a custom wheelchair, empowering them to once again run free. But with over 1,000 animals to care for, the SFT team cannot afford new wheelchairs for the disabled dogs, and many of them are wearing out.
Thanks to the compassion of our supporters, we are funding four new wheelchairs to keep disabled dogs in Morocco running happy and free. Together, we are giving these animals the gift of mobility and a reason to keep wagging their tails.
