Sick, starving and scrounging for scraps on rubbish heaps - this is the reality for the street cats of Lamu, who are totally neglected and ignored, and left to breed indiscriminately in this dirt-poor Kenyan town.

We saw terribly emaciated pregnant cats and kittens dying on filthy roadsides. We saw kittens so sick they couldn’t open their bulging, pus-filled eyes. As would yours, our hearts broke, and we knew we had to help immediately. We also know that as a tender-hearted animal lover, you will want to help them, too.

Kittens dying before our eyes and mother cats too sick and weak to nurse. We know you’ll agree, that no animal deserves this life! We are counting on your support today so we can help!

The kindest thing we can do for Lamu's cats is sterilize them. This will improve the quality of their lives, and prevent the birth of thousands of unwanted kittens. Most kittens born in this dreadful hellhole stand no chance of survival. They spend only a few weeks or months on this earth in pain, suffering from the moment they open their eyes until they die. These tiny, innocent beings do not deserve this agony, and preventing it is SO SIMPLE - but we cannot do it without your support.

We must sterilize the suffering cats of Lamu and prevent more kittens being born into excruciating - and pitifully short - lives. Please help us.
Please give them the gift of your compassion right now.

In this primitive village, there are no vets and nowhere that cares for sick animals. But with your support, we WILL help the cats.

Together with our partner, the Kenyan Society for the Protection and Care of Animals (KSPCA), we will travel back to Lamu to trap and sterilize as many street cats as possible. We have done this before with great success: we fixed and clipped hundreds of cats over a week, but we could not reach all of them. That is why we MUST go back and sterilize the rest.

If we can raise $10,000 (roughly £8,400), we can get our team of vets to Lamu to trap and sterilize as many of the remaining street cats as possible.

Your donation today will give these cats a measure of kindness they have never known before. It will prevent kittens from being born into a hellish existence and mother cats from watching their babies die before their eyes.

The cats of Lamu are the reason we work in hardest-to-reach areas - places that are remote, dangerous, or entirely forgotten by most other organizations. These sweet cats are in the worst possible condition, but your donation today can make a world of difference in their lives. With your support, we will NOT let them down. We will do ALL WE CAN to improve their lives. Please, donate now and help us sterilize Lamu's suffering, helpless cats.

P.S. Imagine giving birth to litter after litter of kittens, only to watch helplessly as they suffer and die from malnutrition and disease. Utterly agonizing! As compassionate humans, we must do everything we can to address this awful situation. Please, don’t turn your back on these cats. They are not vermin or pests - they are gentle, feeling creatures, just like your cats and ours, who deserve all our kindness and care. They may never know a warm bed or loving embrace, but they deserve to know basic human kindness. If you possibly can, donate right now to help us relieve their terrible suffering.
