This is a real-time EMERGENCY - please, can you help NOW?

Last night, a devastating fire swept through the slum township of Masiphumelele near Cape Town, burning thousands of shacks to the ground and leaving some 1,500 dogs and cats homeless. Many of the animals were burnt in the raging fire and our team has been on the ground since this morning trying to help them.

Where once 5,000 people lived, all that remains is cinders.

We don’t know how many animals were hurt but our partner on the ground, TEARS, says it expects HUNDREDS OF DOGS AND CATS will need medical treatment over the next few days!

The shanty town lies right next to a wetland wilderness and most of the animals have taken refuge in the thick vegetation there. Sadly, some will die there, although our team is searching for survivors as I write this. Those we find will need urgent and intensive medical treatment and very importantly, love because right now these poor creatures are totally traumatized, lucky to still be alive no matter how pain they are feeling.

Please, please will you donate now to help us save lives?

This EMERGENCY is unfolding NOW!

We need your help to prepare for an overwhelming number of injured and burnt animals. We need so much help, medicine, dressings and food of course.

TEARS has one small operating theatre which we equipped, and we know it’s going to be working 24 hours a day for the immediate future. The animals are going to need a lot of anesthetics and pain killers. Please this is not something that can wait. Many dogs will die of burns if we don’t help, and we can only help if you and other animal lovers like you, make a donation today. Minutes count with burn injuries.

Please send help now!

The fire spread at such incredible speed it’s hard to describe the blistering inferno that engulfed over a thousand homes. Fed by gusting winds the fire devastated everything in its path. Hundreds of dogs will be pouring into the TEARS clinic over the next few days. Animals suffering from everything from severe burns to smoke inhalation.

We are already running out of medicine, please help now!

With your help we can save terrified dogs and cats, keep them alive with food, water, and shelter and reunite lost animals and families.

Even in the midst of disaster animal lovers know what is important…

We met Vusi Matanzima: when the fire hit his shack in the early hours of the morning, he had a choice: save some of his possessions or rescue his two dogs. Vusi chose the dogs and lost everything else he had in the world.

You as an animal lover know how important animals are and that is why like Vusi we will risk everything to save them. Two of our team were injured trying to rescue puppies today and needed medical treatment, but we did what we had to do and kept on searching for the poor creatures who might die without us.

For the animals,
