In the midst of corona misery, thanks to you, there is some good news! But there is also a huge challenge…

Three days ago, we told you we had 48 hours to buy enough food for 250 donkeys rescued from the Chinese donkey skin trade – food to last them through the corona crisis shutdown in South Africa. The donkeys all live at the Karoo Donkey Sanctuary, hundreds of miles from the nearest big town and their supplier locked down.

We got some food to the donkeys before the deadline ran out, but not enough. We were terribly worried but at the last possible moment, the authorities relented and gave us one extra day. THAT DID IT! All 250 donkeys have enough food to last for a month, thanks to the generosity of Network for Animals’ supporters.

250 donkeys SAVED from starvation!

Karoo

These are donkeys rescued from the brutal donkey-skin trade – they narrowly escaped being skinned alive in illegal bush slaughterhouses. Imagine how they would have felt surviving that, only to now face a horrible death by starvation.

Thank you so much for your help!

Of course, in this time of crisis, animals are in distress all over the world – more donkeys, horses, dogs, cats and more.

We work in more than a dozen countries and help is needed in every one.

This crisis will be with us for a while, and who knows how long the lockdown will last?

A monumental challenge remains!

Karoo

For the sake of all the creatures around the world, please, donate right now if you possibly can.  We will continue to do everything in our power to get them the food and veterinary care that is so desperately needed, now more than ever in this time of crisis and uncertainty.

For the animals,

P.S. We have to remind you how important it is for you to be careful of catching the disease. Please look after yourself, stay inside and this too shall pass. Please, if you possibly can, donate right now so we can continue our lifesaving work for all the animals in this extraordinary time of need.
