Teenager Mercilessly Drowns Kittens: The Punishment Must Fit The Crime!

  • August 31, 2020
  • News

Ghastly footage posted to social media shows a 17-year-old Australian girl mercilessly drown three kittens in a makeshift bathtub.

Network for Animals (NFA) calls upon authorities in Australia to ensure that this person is not only punished in the courts but give the psychiatric treatment she so clearly needs.

The video, filmed in Bundaberg, Queensland, was posted to Snapchat, with the caption ‘drowning kittens’.

“This monstrous crime deserves harsh punishment,” said NFA’s David Barritt. “One can only imagine the utter terror those poor babies felt until the moment they took their last breath.”

Messages on social media show the girl tell her friends she decided to kill the kittens because she had “run out of room” for cats. She showed absolutely no remorse for what she had done. After they were drowned, she later confirmed: “Yes, I killed them, why? Who gives a f***?”

A Queensland Police spokesperson said the teenager had been charged under the Animal Care and Protection Act.

“This was a calculated, premeditated act of extreme cruelty and should be punished as such,” said Barritt. “In our work around the world to fight animal cruelty, we are frequently horrified by the way animals are treated as if they do not feel pain – without any kindness or compassion. An example should be made of this person but it is also important that her mental state is assessed. This is because it is well-established that children who torture animals often go on to become violent and cruel adults. We hope the courts treat this with the seriousness it deserves.”
