The video above is from NFA veterinarian, Dr. Medino Yebron, organizer of the event, and a tireless campaigner for the improvement of animal welfare in the Philippines and an end to organized horse fighting and the dog meat trade.
As well veterinary consultations and parades, 105 cats and dogs were vaccinated against rabies and 24 dogs were spayed or neutered. The events took place in very stormy conditions, which greatly reduced the anticipated number of attendees, but we will work in the coming weeks to fulfill our goal of 100 sterilizations.
During the event, a pressing need for educational outreach was noted, as cat and dog owners reported being fearful of possible negative effects of sterilization, rather than acknowledging the benefits of a solid neutering program. Dr Yebron and his colleagues will work to remedy this situation in the coming year.
None of work would be possible without your support: Thank you.
