In Tangier, Morocco, where thousands of street dogs struggle to survive every day, 18 disabled dogs were destined to die – until our partner, SFT Sanctuary, stepped in.
The vets recommended euthanasia. Others simply turned a blind eye to their suffering. And no-one was willing to take them in – no-one except SFT.

Despite their severe disabilities, our partner refused to abandon the dogs to die.
Instead, they did something incredible – they gave them the chance to run again.
After taking in these precious dogs, the SFT team fitted each one with a custom wheelchair. Now, they don’t just survive – they thrive!
One of the most heart-warming sights is seeing the dogs gallop along the beach, splashing in the waves and playfully nipping at each other’s wheels. These are dogs that seemingly had no future, but thanks to our partner’s dedication to saving each and every animal no matter the cost, they can be the happy, energetic and mischievous dogs they were always meant to be.

For dogs like Sahara, being able to run again is nothing short of a miracle.
Sahara was dumped in the scorching Sahara desert. Alone. Paralyzed. Dying. We cannot imagine the fear she must have felt as she crawled through the hot sand, her back legs trailing behind her. Against all odds, she somehow survived long enough to be rescued. With her back legs paralyzed, most would have given up on her.
But SFT didn’t.
Today, Sahara races along the beach, her wheels kicking up sand and splashing through the surf as she runs with the rest of the pack.

She is a miracle on wheels — and she’s not alone.
These are the happy endings that we fight for every day at Network for Animals, and today, we need your help to keep the dream alive for Sahara and her fellow disabled dogs.
With over 1,000 animals to care for, the small but dedicated SFT team simply cannot afford new wheelchairs for their disabled dogs.
Each wheelchair costs $500 (around £380) — and many are wearing out. On top of that, three more disabled dogs are about to join the sanctuary and will each need a custom wheelchair of their own.
To make the situation even more challenging, all the disabled dogs require special food, because their conditions make digestion difficult and cause upset tummies if they aren’t fed the right diet.
All together, including dogs in the surrounding areas, SFT cares for over 1,000 animals.
With no help from the authorities, it is only through the support of animal-lovers like you that SFT can keep its disabled dogs fed and their wheelchairs rolling.

Together, we can give these disabled dogs the gift of mobility – and a reason to wag their tails.
These dogs were beaten, broken, abandoned.
But because of people like you, they are now loved, mobile and alive.
Any amount you can give will help give these disabled dogs the second chance they deserve. Please donate as generously as you can today.
What your gift will do:
