Margot and her year-old daughter Mirabelle were found near death in Bela Bela, an impoverished area of the Limpopo province in South Africa. Then the vet discovered she was about to give birth.

Margot had been hit by a car, was extremely malnourished, heavily pregnant and battling to walk. Her year-old daughter was found at her side, deeply distressed.
Our partner, Rest Ur Ass, took them to its donkey sanctuary where medical examinations revealed that Margot had a badly fractured femur and her daughter Mirabelle had a serious eye condition. The vet also discovered that Margot is due to give birth any day.

For now, Margot is stabilized. Her leg is heavily strapped to minimize further injury if she tries to put weight on it, but she needs a life-saving operation immediately.
Margot needs special surgery to save her leg, her life, and her baby.
The vet team is closely monitoring Margot and her unborn foal to keep them as safe as possible during this critical time.
Margot needs a custom-designed pin, instead of the metal plates normally used to repair such breaks. It costs $9,000 (£6,760). Please help the donkey family by donating what you can today.

Margot is living in hell, she is constantly in pain, heavily pregnant and with a needy one year old at her breast.
Her daughter Mirabelle is showing signs of post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and will need dedicated care if she is to have a chance.
The new addition to the family is due any day now, which means three lives depend upon us today. The donkeys need your help to end their suffering, and give all three of them the chance of a happy life in a haven where they can live forever.
