The filthy cage held a horrible secret…

In an off-the-radar location in Gimhae City, South Korea, the filthy cage was intentionally hidden under old cardboard and planks of wood.

But the piles of feces piled beneath gave its suffering contents away.

These poor pups were to have been beaten and murdered for their flesh!

In the dank, dirty cage, our partner for this rescue - Jindo Love - found four puppies cowering in their own filth… waiting in fear for whatever terrible thing might next befall them.

As soon as we saw the photos of the puppies, we KNEW we had to alert you…

…because in the late 1980s, in what remains one of the most disturbing dog meat videos we’ve ever seen, we had witnessed with our own eyes what was coming next...

The grainy, amateur video showed a family in South Korea, on a picnic in the park with their pet dog. Suddenly they hang the loyal, betrayed creature from a tree. As the hanging dog slowly swings and strangles, they beat it over and over with a stick until it dies.

Then the family COOKS and EATS their dog at the picnic!
THIS is the kind of unthinkably cruel death those poor pups could have faced!

So far, in just a few years, Jindo Love’s team has found homes in America and Canada for nearly 1,000 dogs and pups!

But it takes about $100 (£80) each month for each dog or puppy just to cover the food and supplies that keep them clean, comfortable, and happy. Shortcuts aren’t taken since the aim is to eventually place every rescued healthy and well-socialized dog with a family.

Most of the dogs and puppies that Jindo Love rescues also need extra veterinary care for diseases of neglect like distemper and mange. It’s a huge added cost - that only adds to the disgusting irony that during Boknal Days, dog meat soup is ritualized as a “health tonic”!
