Since the Badger Debate on 6th June 2013, Network for Animals has seen only one place to take the campaign: The ballot box.
Network for Animals has been at the forefront of the campaign to stop this cruel and unfounded trial badger cull since the beginning. After this Government went against public and scientific opinion on 5th July 2013 and voted to kill England’s Badgers, we have committed to do our part to hit these wildlife killers where it hurts – the ballot box.
As we demonstrated in the seal hunt, political campaigning takes time and money, but eventually, it works. In the meantime, it is vital that we continue to fight on the frontline by funding badger vaccination projects and standing alongside regional groups to oppose and minimise the slaughter.

We have recently provided vital funding for Gloucestershire Against Badger Shooting, a local group formed in the summer of 2012 when the cull was originally planned to start. Their campaign work has already led to two of the three councils in their area declining to accept badger shooting on their land. They have now created groups of volunteers who will bravely go out on 'Wounded Badger Patrols', to monitor and care for injured animals. We need to expand this initiative across all the cull zones to support the victims of this politically-led bloodshed: England’s Badgers.
