The streets of New York City are incredibly dangerous for vulnerable newborn kittens. Of those born to unsterilized stray cats, as few as 1 in 4 survive their first six months.

A single unsterilized female stray cat gives birth to an average of six kittens every year, and up to 75% of these kittens won’t survive their first year due to the numerous dangers of living on the streets. This means that for every 12 kittens born to a stray cat, nine are likely to die young.
The most effective way to prevent more kittens from being born into harsh lives is to implement trap-neuter-return (TNR) programs. Together with our partner – and with support from animal-lovers like you, Friend – that’s exactly what we’ll do.
