More than 700 rescued animals urgently need your help.
Friend Animal Foundation (FAF), Zimbabwe’s largest no-kill animal rescue, is home to 450 dogs and puppies, 200 cats and kittens, and over 50 rescued farm animals.
Every one of them has a sad story. Some were abandoned. Others were abused. Many arrived starving, injured or terrified. None of them had anywhere else to go.
For these animals, FAF isn’t only a shelter. It is the only loving home they have ever known.

Network for Animals has been a partner of FAF since 2021. When the shelter faced financial collapse following the sudden death of its founder, compassionate supporters like you helped us to save it.
Today, those same rescued animals need us again. Only this time, it’s their home we are fighting for.
Forced to start over.
FAF has cared for vulnerable animals for decades. Their old kennels — some built more than 70 years ago — have sheltered thousands of rescued dogs and cats. But the shelter has long since outgrown its ageing facilities.
An unexpected forced move earlier this year created an extraordinary opportunity for FAF to create a new sanctuary — with larger kennels, purpose-built recovery facilities, enriched catteries and spacious paddocks where rescued farm animals can live in peace.
Thanks to the sale of the old property and generous supporters, land for the new sanctuary has been purchased and construction has begun.

But now funds have run out while we are racing against the clock to finish construction.
302 dogs and 190 cats have already been relocated to the new property. Hundreds more still need to make the journey.
We are racing to complete 60 kennels. There is also an urgent need for climbing structures and walkways so rescued cats can feel safe, confident and at home in the cattery.

The clock is ticking for the completion of a dedicated medical ward while an off-grid solar system will keep the lights on and power water pumps and refrigeration for medicines.
Every donation will really help.
One of the very first dogs to move into the new sanctuary was Bobby.

Almost four years ago, Bobby was found wandering the streets with half of his right front leg missing. No one knows what happened but Bobby somehow survived.
Looking at him today, happily exploring his new surroundings on three and a half legs, it’s hard to imagine the life he once endured. At ten years old, he greets visitors with a wagging tail and spends his days surrounded by people who love him. Until he finds a family of his own, FAF is exactly that — his family and most importantly, his home.
The sanctuary for the animals is taking shape, but it cannot be completed without help.

We’re building more than a shelter. We’re building a future for hundreds of animals who have nowhere else to go.
The well-being of these animals depends on people like you. Every gift, no matter the size, will help bring this critical sanctuary closer to completion — and a step closer to giving hundreds of rescued animals the home they deserve for years to come.
Please donate today and help us finish building their new home.
