In the heavily-bombed Donetsk region of Ukraine thousands of war victim dogs and cats are terrified, abandoned and starving to death!

Animals desperately need your help in one of the worst war zones in Ukraine!

Thousands of war victim dogs and cats are terrified, abandoned and starving to death in the Donetsk region. We must do everything we can to keep them fed and cared for.

Our partner, Ecoprotection of Starokostyantyniv (EPS) in Khmelnytskyi, is struggling to keep up with the never-ending stream of war refugee dogs and cats, all of whom need food and shelter.

Russian military strikes have obliterated virtually everything – apartment blocks, houses and even schools. Dogs and cats scurry on bombed out streets scavenging for food scraps, never knowing when death from the sky is going to blow them to pieces.

Since the start of the war, EPS has taken in hundreds of animals from some of Ukraine’s worst-hit areas, including Kharkiv, Kyiv and Mariupol. The shelter is inundated, sheltering 300 dogs and 40 cats. They simply can’t afford to keep up with the constant influx.

Recently, EPS rescued 14 cats and a tiny kitten from a heavily bombed region.

Even though its shelter is massively overcrowded, our team could not turn away these innocent victims of war. They acted FAST to rent an apartment as a shelter for the cats.

But this is just a temporary solution, and the cats will have to move soon. We must urgently increase the size of the EPS shelter for the newly rescued cats and for the endless flood of animals looking for love, shelter and food – lots of food.

Without our help, many of these animals will die. It’s that simple. It’s that dire.

Network for Animals (NFA) is still extremely active in helping animals across Ukraine in this terrible time of war. One of the many ways we help is by producing NFA-branded pet food in Ukraine in partnership with Vetmarket Pluriton, and having that food distributed free in the most dangerous areas.

With your help, we will make sure that animals in Donetsk get NFA food and EPS has the funds to enlarge their shelterAND that the 14 rescued cats and new-born kitten are safe, are fed, and receive the vaccinations and intensive veterinary care they need!

P.S. We cannot adequately describe to you how bad the situation is for these animals. They have lost their humans and their homes have been reduced to rubble. There is constant noise as artillery shells fall around them. They are hungry and terrified and without us they face only misery and death. We as animal lovers have a duty to do everything we can to help these traumatized creatures. Please donate generously right now.
