100 donkeys, all survivors of nightmarish war and abuse in the Middle East, finally have the chance to escape and start over in Europe. But we desperately need your help to get them there.
We have planned a massive emergency relocation of 100 donkeys rescued from war and abuse in the Middle East to havens in Europe.
This severely injured donkey is just one of the 1,200 SOS has saved. We’re now working to relocate 100 donkeys to make space for more animals that are still trapped in a nightmare. Credit: SOS
Many of these donkeys come from Gaza and other battle-scarred areas of Palestine.
The animals were rescued by our partner, Starting Over Sanctuary (SOS), from the most horrific conditions as war raged around them. To make matters worse, desperate people beat them, whipped them and worked them to the bone until they collapsed from exhaustion. When deemed ‘useless,’ they were abandoned and left to die amidst the devastation of war.
SOS has never turned away an animal in need.
The donkeys we help SOS save arrive broken, starving and terrified, some injured to within an inch of their lives. At the sanctuary, the animals are given a chance to start over.

The recent ceasefire enabled SOS to launch rescue missions into Gaza, saving even more animals from suffering and death – but now it is stretched to capacity, caring for more than 1,200 donkeys and struggling to cope with rising food and medical care costs.
To ease the financial burden and allow the sanctuary to save more donkeys in need, we must fly 100 rescued donkeys from Israel to Europe – and the clock is ticking with just one month to make it happen!

Imagine 100 donkeys who have known little more than suffering running safe and free in beautiful green fields in Europe…
With your help, we can make this dream come true for the animals.
SOS has already secured placements for the animals at well-vetted sanctuaries in France and Belgium. All we need now are the funds to get them there.
We have promised to do everything we can to get these donkeys to safety in Europe, but we desperately need YOUR help.

We must act now. The first flight is one month away and we are racing against time to raise the funds needed to transport the animals.
Please donate generously today and help us give 100 donkeys the safe and happy life in Europe that they so deserve.
