The sudden withdrawal of USAID funding is deeply concerning for charities around the world. When resources become scarce, it’s always the animals, especially those in vulnerable communities across Africa, who suffer the most.
Experts predict that recent aid cuts could plunge an additional 5.7 million people into extreme poverty within the next year in Africa alone…
…and as always, the animals will bear the heaviest burden. All we can do is ask you to help them.

More and more helpless creatures will depend on animal-lovers like you to help – animals in places like Calvinia, a poverty-stricken farming town in South Africa’s Northern Cape. Here, more than 200 vulnerable dogs rely on us and our partner for survival.
200 abused, starving and diseased dogs need your help.
The condition of many of these dogs would shock you. Every week, our team encounters more and more emaciated, tick-infested and critically injured dogs in need of food, medication and emergency veterinary care.
Communities like Calvinia are already under intense economic strain, with the majority of residents surviving on just $260 (£200) a month.
As NGO-backed services disappear, local organizations and community leaders will be forced to channel more funds into supporting their people, leaving even less for the animals.
We need your help, now more than ever, to continue providing food, medication and care for the dogs of Calvinia.
