When the earth shook in Venezuela, buildings fell in seconds.
Families ran for their lives.
And dogs and cats were left trapped in the rubble.
Some are buried under broken concrete.
Some are limping through ruined streets.
Some are crying out from collapsed homes, terrified, injured and alone.
This is the hidden suffering after disaster.

On June 24, Venezuela was hit by two terrible earthquakes, one immediately after the other. Homes and buildings collapsed leaving pets trapped inside. Countless street dogs and cats were buried in the rubble.
In Caracas, there are some 300,000 street dogs and 250,000 street cats who need rescue, shelter and care. Can you imagine how terrified they must be? Their world has collapsed around them and they are hungry, confused and sore. We are trying to reach these animals before it is too late.
We are helping local organization Red de Apoyo Canino, whose team is already on the ground helping animals affected by this tragedy. Injured animals are taken straight to one of the organization’s veterinarians and the team. It is a race against time to get food and water to the worst-hit areas.
These earthquake victims need immediate help.

Please, with your help, we can support urgent rescue efforts for cats and dogs caught in the earthquakes. We can help provide emergency veterinary care for injured animals, food for pets and strays left hungry in the wreckage.

Please do not let these animals become the forgotten victims of this disaster.
The earthquakes are over, but the suffering is not.
Right now, somewhere in the ruins, a dog may still be trapped and waiting.
A cat may still be hiding in fear under collapsed debris.
