Welcome to the Network for Animals (NFA) FAQ page! Here, you’ll find quick answers about our mission, how we operate, and ways you can support us in improving animal welfare worldwide.

General questions:

NFA is an international non-profit organization working to improve animal welfare around the world. We provide financial and logistical support to animal shelters and other strategic partners, and advocate for animal rights.

NFA is an international not-for-profit organization registered in the US, the UK and South Africa.

In the UK, we are registered as a not-for-profit organisation as Network for Animals Limited (NFAL) is registered as a not-for-profit organisation; this is the entity that will receive your donations. NFAL is a not-for-profit company but is not a charity. Network for Animals Charitable Trust (NFACT) (registered charity number 1142700) is a charity that is also part of the NFA Group and operates to support charitable projects through legacy donations. If you wish to leave NFACT a legacy as a charitable donation, you should make your wishes known to NFACT for your estate to receive tax benefits at [email protected].

Network for Animals is a registered charity in the United States under the name Network for Animals USA, Inc. It is an IRS-designated 501(c)(3) charitable organization (tax ID# 47-1431869), donations made to it are tax-deductible to the full extent provided by law.

In South Africa, Network for Animals NPC is a registered Public Benefit Organisation in terms of Section 18A of the Income Tax Act (Act 58 of 1962). PBO number is 930073625. Company No. 2020/785674/08

Donations and support:

You can donate online, by phone, or by mail.

Yes, donations to NFA are tax-deductible in the US to the full extent provided by law and your donations are tax-deductible under Section 18A of the Income Tax Act in South Africa.

Areas of focus:

NFA currently operates in 24 different countries across 5 continents.

NFA provides financial and logistical support (including food and medical supplies) to animal shelters and organizations. We also assist with raising public awareness about animal welfare.

NFA focuses on areas with the greatest need where we can make the biggest impact, often working in dangerous areas where other organizations do not readily go. We care for dogs, cats, donkeys, horses and other animals in 26 countries around the globe. From feeding, providing medical care sterilization and vaccination programs to emergency relief in wars and natural disasters, NFA strives to make a difference for animals everywhere.

New bank verification regulation for online donations:

A new regulation requires payment processors to verify bank accounts for online donations. This means you may need to log into your bank account to verify your identity before donating.

This regulation was implemented on March 19, 2021, to improve fraud detection.

Founder and Mission:

NFA was established in 1996 by Brian and Gloria Davies, icons of the animal welfare movement.

Fueled by our generous supporters, NFA’s mission is to uplift dogs, cats, horses and donkeys in distress. Through our partners, we provide crucial care for tens of thousands of animals every year.
