BREAKING NEWS: Tanzanian Donkey Slaughterhouse To Shut Down!

BREAKING NEWS: The Tanzanian government has announced the imminent CLOSURE of the donkey slaughterhouse in northern Tanzania, which we reported on last month. This is a colossal victory for animal welfare and a reprieve for tens of thousands of donkeys who faced agonizing death by a bludgeoning hammer EVERY MONTH.

We were tipped off about the slaughterhouse back in June by the Arusha Society for the Protection of Animals (ASPA). We sprang into action, dispatching a team of Network for Animals (NFA) campaigners to the rural Shinyanga region to gather evidence of illegal activity. Armed with damning evidence, we put pressure on the Tanzanian authorities to close the slaughterhouse immediately and ban it forever.

We’ve just received word that our efforts were successful and that the slaughterhouse has been given ONE WEEK to close. This outcome is not only thanks to our teams on the ground, but also to the tireless support of you, our compassionate, animal-loving supporters, who could not bear to stand by and allow this cruelty to continue. We could not have done this without YOUR donations! You have helped to spare the lives of thousands of gentle, innocent animals, and they are so grateful to you.

We will continue to monitor the situation and report on any further developments.
