This week, intense fighting broke out in Lebanon as part of the escalating war in the Middle East. As a result, countless animals are in immediate danger. Many are trapped, displaced and without access to food, shelter or medical care.
As the war reaches Lebanon, animals caught on the frontline are suffering and dying.
As bombs explode and chaos spreads, animals are caught in a terrifying reality. They cannot find safety by themselves, they desperately need our help.
In the chaos, families are forced to flee, often leaving their pets behind. With the conflict spreading, the number of animals left to fend for themselves is rising dramatically. As you can imagine, these animals are facing hunger, injury and extreme fear – and they need our help.
We have partnered with Houssein Hamze, the founder of Mashala Shelter in Nabatieh, southern Lebanon. The shelter conducts rescue missions even as the war rages.
War means fear, starvation, abandonment and death for the animals left behind. We need to help these victims.
Over one million people have already been displaced, leaving countless animals to fend for themselves amidst the war.

Donate todayMashala Shelter is only equipped to take 150 animals, but since the war breached the Lebanon border, Houssein and his team have continued rescuing animals left behind. Now, they are caring for a staggering 350 dogs and cats, putting a significant strain on their resources – especially as supplies get more expensive during the war.
Despite the immense danger, Houssein risks his life every day, venturing out into war-ravaged areas to feed countless displaced and abandoned animals, and rescuing injured animals from the frontlines.
Food supplies are running dangerously low. Time is of the essence – the need for food, water, medicine and supplies has never been more severe, and costs continue to rise.
The animals have nowhere to go, and without you, they have little hope of survival.
We are working to provide essential, life-saving resources, but to do that, we need your help to:
- Set up emergency aid stations to provide food, shelter and care for animals caught in the conflict.
- Deliver crucial medical supplies and essential items to save animals in critical condition.
- Fund vital rescue missions to conflict hotspots, feeding hundreds of stranded dogs and cats, and rescuing those with life-threatening injuries.
