THE CARIBBEAN
Jamaica
Rushing emergency aid to the animal victims of Hurricane Melissa
In late October, Hurricane Melissa tore through Jamaica, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake. It was the deadliest storm to hit the island in over a century. As always, our hearts broke for the countless forgotten animal victims – stranded, starving, injured and alone amid the chaos.
Network for Animals has a proven record of providing emergency relief to animals in disaster situations, and thanks to the generosity of our donors, we were able to act quickly once again. We rushed emergency funds to four dedicated animal rescue groups in Jamaica – Negril Pup Rescue, OnlyPaws Cat Rescue, Kitties of Kingston and Portland Pups – all working around the clock to save animal lives. Our supporters’ donations are providing ongoing rescue missions for trapped animals, life-saving veterinary care for the injured, and food, water and safe shelter for animals caught in the storm.
Thank you to those who contributed to this emergency relief fund for standing with the animals of Jamaica during their darkest hour of need.

Thailand – Nong Kae
Building a safe shelter for rescued animals at risk of losing their only home
For over a decade, Rescue PAWS has been a lifeline for abandoned, sick and suffering animals in Thailand – but now, the shelter has been ordered to vacate their current home on temple grounds. With the eviction deadline looming, 40 rescued animals were at risk, as well as countless street animals who rely on our partner for food and care. While construction on a new shelter had begun, funding had run out, and the work came to a halt.
Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, we were able to help bridge the funding shortfall and construction has resumed, bringing Rescue PAWS one step closer to giving the animals in their care a safe, permanent home in Thailand.

AFRICA
Morocco – Marrakesh
Providing vital new stables for abused and disabled equines
In Marrakesh, our partner, the Jarjeer Mule and Donkey Refuge, provides a loving forever home for more than 270 animals – with 23 arriving in just the past three months alone. Every donkey, horse and mule in their care was saved from terrible abuse – overworked to exhaustion, beaten when they could no longer work or abandoned to suffer by their heartless owners. With hundreds of animals already at the shelter and 40 more arriving soon, the team is overwhelmed.
Thanks to the generosity of our donors, we are helping to build critically needed stables, providing safety and comfort for suffering animals while easing the pressure on our partner as it continues its life-saving work. Thank you for helping us give donkeys and horses the protection and second chance they so deeply deserve.

Kenya – Lamu
Vaccinating and sterilizing vulnerable cats amid a deadly cat flu outbreak
In October, a deadly cat flu outbreak swept through Lamu, Kenya, endangering the thousands of cats we have worked to protect over the past four years. The Lamu archipelago is home to an estimated 10,000 street cats, and since 2021, we have vaccinated and sterilized 3,528 of them alongside our partners, Ian Kiringa and the Kenya Small and Companion Animal Veterinary Association (KESCAVA). With the outbreak threatening to undo all our good work, we knew we had to act fast.
Thanks to the generosity of animal-lovers, our team is on the ground, carrying out another vital trap-neuter-vaccinate-return (TNVR) program with the aim of reaching 100 more cats. Our ultimate goal is to vaccinate and sterilize 7,000 cats in total – 70% of the population – and today, we are one step closer to ending the cycle of suffering for these cats. Thank you.
