Joy, tenacity and indomitable spirit! These are some of the characteristics that Network for Animals staff members encounter in the thousands of dogs that the organisation helps every day in Cuba, Croatia, Greece, Montenegro, Philippines, Serbia, South Africa and Uruguay.
Now, Australian photographer, Alex Cearns, has captured the unique spirit of injured rescue dogs in a book she has titled “Perfect Imperfection“. Her portraits show the unexpected beauty and resilience of rescue dogs who have adapted to life without limbs or their eyesight.
“I love seeing the pictures of these brave dogs,” said NFA campaign director, David Barritt. “Thanks to our supporters, NFA is able to make a difference to the lives of thousands of abandoned, neglected and injured dogs every day. It is an immense privilege to experience at first hand the indomitable spirit of the rescue dog. This is the beautiful side of animal rescue.”
