In May, Network for Animals sterilized more than 200 dogs and cats on a tiny island in the Seychelles, delivered emergency aid to animals affected by devastating storms in South Africa and continued the fight to stop the cruel killing of dogs in Morocco.
Here is how our supporters made a difference for animals around the world in May.

AFRICA
La Digue, Seychelles
Sterilizing 200 vulnerable cats and dogs in just three days
On the tiny island of La Digue in the Seychelles, many dogs and cats face a daily struggle for survival – battling hunger, injury and illness and breeding unchecked due to a lack of veterinary resources.
With special permission from the Seychelles government, our veterinary team traveled to the island for a critical three-day sterilization campaign between 22 and 24 May. We are proud to report that not only did we meet our target of 200 sterilizations – we surpassed it! In just three days, 209 dogs and cats were sterilized, creating a lasting impact for animals on this remote island and helping to reduce future suffering.

Thanks to our supporters’ donations, emergency relief reached animals when they needed it most. Your donations helped provide essential food and warm blankets to animals in the care of Mdzananda Animal Clinic and TEARS Animal Rescue, offering comfort, protection and hope during this critical time.

Morocco
Working to stop the mass killing of dogs
As Morocco prepares to welcome football fans from around the world as a co-host of the 2030 FIFA World Cup, reports continue to emerge of street dogs being shot, poisoned and beaten as part of a nationwide “clean-up” campaign.
As a member of the International Animal Welfare Protection Coalition (IAWPC), Network for Animals is working alongside global and local partners to help end this cruelty. Thanks to your support, we are rescuing vulnerable dogs, providing veterinary care and safe shelter, expanding humane TNVR programs and supporting efforts to challenge these killings while building international pressure for lasting change.
