In February, equines were forced out of their only home in South Africa, a life-saving dog shelter in Ukraine was destroyed and injured animals in Jordan had nowhere to turn for critical veterinary care.
But because of compassionate supporters like you, hope was not lost. Together, we delivered emergency aid for animals across the world – including relocation support, food, repair materials, veterinary supplies and life-saving medical care.
EUROPE
Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine
Rushing emergency aid to shelter dogs amid deadly drone strike
On the morning of February 6, 2026, a Russian drone struck our partner, Give a Paw, Friend Shelter, in Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine. Tragically, 15 dogs were killed and five were pulled from the rubble with life-threatening injuries. Located just 19 miles (30 kilometers) from the frontline, evacuating the more than 500 dogs in the shelter’s care was nearly impossible as it posed extreme risks to both the animals and their rescuers. With their facility damaged and food supplies destroyed in the strike, the dogs urgently needed help.
We immediately reached out to our network of compassionate supporters. Thanks to the overwhelming response, emergency funding was rushed to provide dry and wet food to replace destroyed supplies, veterinary medicines for the injured and critical materials to repair and rebuild damaged kennels and structures. Thank you for standing with Ukraine’s dogs in their darkest and most difficult hour.

AFRICA
McGregor, South Africa
Relocating equines to their new forever home
In February, we were alerted to an urgent situation facing our partner, Have a Heart Equine Sanctuary (HAHES), in McGregor, South Africa. For the second time in just one year, the devoted team and 69 rescued horses and donkeys were forced to leave their home after the authorities declared the land environmentally protected due to the presence of rare plant species.
A new property had been secured in Gqeberha in the Eastern Cape, but our partner urgently needed support to cover the high cost of transporting the animals. Thanks to our supporters’ generosity, we were able to step in and contribute the funds needed to safely move the horses and donkeys to their new forever home.

MIDDLE EAST
Jordan
Providing life-saving veterinary care for severely injured street dogs
In Jordan, street dogs endure unimaginable cruelty – dodging cars, being shot at and battling starvation and disease. Aziza is one of them, a small puppy struck by a car who, without help, would have been left to die alone. For our partners on the ground, every day is a race against time to secure urgent veterinary care and life-saving surgeries for animals suffering from severe injuries.
Thanks to our compassionate donors, we were able to provide our partners in Jordan with critical funding. This support ensures emergency, life-saving veterinary care for severely injured dogs, food and safe shelter for street dogs and ongoing trap-neuter-vaccinate-return (TNVR) programs to prevent more puppies from being born into hardship on Jordan’s unforgiving streets.
Because of donors like you, dogs like Aziza have a chance to survive.
